Chen Pan-Ling Xingyiquan workshop

by dandjurdjevic on Wed Jan 13, 2010 4:29 pm

I am holding a workshop to introduce the Chen Pan-Ling system of xingyiquan on 31 January 2010 in Perth, Western Australia. The course fees will go towards defraying my costs of studying with my teacher Chen Yun-Ching, son of Chen Pan-Ling.

Details of the course can be obtained here.

If I could only find a way to defray a plane ticket to Australia... :(
Maybe "Uncle Sam" would consider it a "business expense"

Looks like fun Dan. Hope it turns out well.

If I weren't getting married this year... maybe she'll agree to delay the wedding one year? On the other hand, don't know how much training I'd be able to do once she'd broken my legs and arms...

Just a reminder to all those living here in Perth: my xingyi (hsing i) workshop is next Sunday!

Come along and sample this very rare art (and an even rarer variant) as researched by the late, great Chen Pan Ling.

For those unfamiliar with xingyi, it offers a completely different way of moving, utilising the power of the vertical circle to deflect and (turning your opponent's force against him/her), split, crush, drill, pound, and cross/hook.

This is an art that is more about "principle" than technique, so adherents of other martial arts can take away some of these principles and apply them in their own techniques.
